दिनांक 17-10-2020 की रात राष्ट्रीय फ़िल्म पुरस्कार से पुरस्कृत फ़िल्म मिथिला मखान में किशुनजी का रोल करने वाले अरुण कुमार झा जी का दरभंगा में ह्रदय गति रुकने से निधन हो गया। फ़िल्म में उन्होंने अपने अभिनय से नमकहलाली की न सिर्फ नई परिभाषा गढ़ी, बल्कि दर्शक भी उनके अभिनय के मुरीद हो गए।
हमारे प्यारे किसुनजी के असामयिक निधन से मन बड़ा मर्माहत है। परमपिता से प्रार्थना है कि परिवार को इस अपूरणीय क्षति को सहन करने की शक्ति दें तथा प्यारे अरूणजी को सद्गति मिले।

T he movie has won Best Maithili Film in the 63rd National Film Awards under the language section. It is the first ever Maithili film from Bihar and Jharkhand to get a national award. Apart from winning Best Film in Maithili, "Mithila Makhaan" was also officially selected for International Film Festival of South Asia (IFFSA) in Toronto in May, 2016, Jagran Film Festival - 2016 and National Film Festival - 2016 organised by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting in New Delhi and NFAI, Pune. The film is high budget production with filming in US, Canada, India and Nepal. It was shot in a temperature of -35 °C in Canada and +45 °C in India and Nepal.
O nly National Award Winning Maithili Film in 50+ years of Maithili Film Making. O nly Film to win National Award which has primarily been shot in Bihar ( & in Mumbai, Toronto and Niagara Falls). M ithila Makhaan is a Maithili film shot in Bihar and the first film in the language of Bihar made with local people and have won the national award in 2016.

‘Mithila Makhaan’ was shot in India, Nepal, Canada & USA. Majority of shoot was in Taralahi, Panchobh and Banauli villeges of Mithila. Other places in India are Darbhanga, Rajnagar in Madhubani, Katihar Highway & locations in Patna and Mumbai. Kosi bridge in Nepal; Richmond Hills, NYC Downtown, Niagara Falls and Toronto Downtown are the international locations where this film has been shot.
In the sorry state of affairs, lads from UP and Bihar have to move out of their native places in search of a glorified job. Similarly, with no apt film industry in regions of UP and Bihar, talented actors like Sushant Singh Rajput had to move to Mumbai to get recognition. Had there been enough opportunities like Tollywood, Kollywood etc where heroes like Rajnikant have cult like following and movies like Bahubali having worldwide success, there would not have been need for youths like Sushant to move out without a safety net.
Sushant Singh Rajput was born in Purnia. Purnia is part of the Mithila region.

Two things can be improved:
1. Music is very loud compared to the rest of the audio. We had to adjust the volume every time music started and ended.
2. Film suddenly ended. Felt the end could have been better.
